Don't forget folks the important Board of Commissioners meeting of December 15th at 6:30 PM at the Administration Building. The meeting will primarily be about the sale of the Lambert Property and the rezoning so three million square feet of warehouse can be built on the site at King Mill Rd. The property lies very close to some homeowners who have been there for sometime. The proposal is to bring in a Clorox storage warehouse for distribution. The citizens of the area are up in arms about the rezoning. The property is some distance from the main highway also. If you can be at this meeting to help support the homeowners of the area.

This is a warehouse,it will not be creating many if any new jobs within the county. It is also a health hazard due to what is
stored in this warehouse,therefore it would affect the health,safety and welfare of adjacent properties.

I have said before and I think this is a good example of it(again)our current leadership should not approve zoning that will allow developers to build adjacent to existing properties if there is incompatability and or if the development will adversely affect adjacent properties.

Property owners have rights under the law. Our county seeks to control every aspect of developing our county, they do this by allowing variances or voting to rezone property. It would seem that when the citizens speak up against re-zoning (just like they have with regard to this development)the board would listen, well they do listen and then they vote for the development anyway MOST of the time. As the election process gets underway aspects of why and how they vote will be discussed on this blog.

Let's change this, don't forget to support HR75 a bill which would allow a dedicated Grand Jury to investigate all Governmental bodies at State and County levels.

representatives in Washington
and ask them to support HR75.

Don't accept the status que in Henry County any longer that is affecting all of us that live here.
Spread the word to all you know that a change is needed on our commissioner board.

Rep. John Lunsford of McDonough is running for Majority Whip of the House. Mr. Lunsford has direct ties to the Henry BoC as he sells real estate with the 3rd district commissioner. The person they work for has received many questionable deals with the BoC. Mr. Lunsford has hurt directly a friend of mine in the past with a business venture. He is someone to be watched.

I watched the Henry County Update today and it is sad to see our Government do this to us the taxpayers. They started off billing the new soccer fields that will be built at North Mt Carmel Park as if it was the best thing scene sliced bread. There are a few reasons that this should not be done. First the hard times we are in could linger and the 1.8 Million could be used for something important, remember I don’t accept soccer as a sport it’s non American. The other thing is that park was started as a Veterans Park by Commissioner Freeman, however when BJ Mathis got into office she killed the plans, thanks BJ we now know how you feel about our veterans. Fiscal responsibility is not in the vocabulary of our Commissioners. Then they had to talk about the awards that was given to people in the parks department one was Mr. Tim Coley that’s right folks the man that helped BJ Mathis lie about Nash Farm and wasted over $8+ Million of our tax money on a cow pasture. What do you get out of this, we need to get out and let people know what is going on and get the people out to vote them out of office. We can start with Commissioners Bowman and Bassler they have done not one good thing for their people in their district. We need to say that is it we are taking our County back and you are fired you have snookered you last Penney from the tax payers of Henry County. Remember this is our County not Bowman County Georgia!!

I have seen those bricks that were installed at the N. Mt. Carmel Park for veterans. The area where they lie is down in the woods and was never completed. This should have been done for our veterans.

With the new year approaching we must begin thinking about the elections that will help mold the future of Georgia. We must be ready for all types of material about the people running for office. We must also be ready to see people we haven't heard from in sometime come crawling out of the woodwork. That is the essence of election season.

It Is Time, It is Our Duty

It is time for the citizens of Henry County to come forward and let the Crooked Commissioners know that they must go that they are no better than the king we left in England to form our own Country. We the citizens of Henry County have been raked over some very hot coals in the past few years. Remember we were forced to pay $8+ Million for a lie and the County even forced the property owner to sale the property to the County at a loss thru the Court. And then the person that started the lie gained power as the Chair of the Board of Commissioners by suing the County to hold on to her power.
That was the real birth of Queen Mathis, and we have been paying for it every day with all of her board jesters that do any and everything she asks without question. It makes one wonder what the Queen is doing to keep them in check. We are now facing our County tax money being used to build things we do not need like soccer fields and walking paths that will lead to nothing but financial ruin for us the tax payers. We are letting the sitting Government re- zone friends property so they can build things that are not in the best interest of the nearby citizens or their property. The following is from our Declaration of Independence. “laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
What this means is simply if you see that your Government is abusing the power we granted to them it is not only your right it is your duty to stop it at any means that are open to you legally in order to restore the correct from of government that the Country was founded on. The first way we can restore the correct form of Government is to vote the offenders out of office and let them know they are wrong in their actions while they represented the people of the County. If this fails we must resort to having them recalled by the voters of the County this can be difficult but remember it is your duty to help restore the right form of Government so everyone is represented equally not one sided as has been the case here in Henry County. Simply put it’s time lets pull together and do our duty.

I saw my breath today in the cold December haze wondering if our nation would survive it's internal strife. Knowing we are in real trouble from sea to shing sea and from Peachstone Shoals to Woolsey Rd. I say in my prayers a special prayer that we as a people will have the strength to rise above the anguish we endure. I felt my pain to remind me of life that still abounds to remember we are the people of these United States who have cast our pennies to sunder in the hands of those who freely enjoy the cofers they share. But it is with that breath in the cold December air that I say this must change and soon for we will be no more.

Think about this people: the person appointed to fill an empty post on the Health Board is a personal friend of BJ Mathis and he helped to put her in office. His name is William Abbate and he has already been appointed to the Hospital Board. She needs to repay him for his help and it sure does look very obvious.

The county has been using the revitalization money to buy up homes that have been foreclosed upon and get them ready for resale. They have bought so far 41 homes and sold only 1 home so they have put a freeze on the program. It looks like Henry County now realizes that there is really a recession out there and people cannot buy homes like the used to.

They tried to take their livelyhood, their property, and their sanity by bringing about eminent domain upon the Stockbridge Florist. Now the city had lost it's challenge and built around them. The owners have come up with a good plan to keep the city in the future from trying to take their property. They are selling shares beginning at $25. Then if the city plans to use eminent domain again it would have to be against each individual who has a share in the property.

What do you think of when someone says they give you their word on something?
Well one would think that the person giving their word would do just that but most of the time they don’t. Why do some people keep their word and some don’t? Some people break their word because they want to look good to someone, some people break their word for the money. What would you do if someone broke their word that they gave you would you let info out about that person that broke their word to you? I sure would it’s called pay back is fair play in my book. It’s like my parents always said and I should have listen better but I did not. They said never trust Lawyers, Bankers, Insurance people of all kinds, Banker Insurance are the worst of all. What I am trying to say is when someone acts with dishonor toward you some times you must fight fire with fire. That is the way most of the younger people live today, so to survive we must adapt to survive our selves. So think twice before you break your word, it could backfire on you.

The Future of Henry County

This county in which we all live and try to survive in has a chance for some of it’s youngsters and elders alike to be able to learn something. It is a given fact that not all students are going to leave high school and attend college. Many people have to have special training in the jobs that they already possess. Henry County has a chance to provide this need by starting a technical/vocational school here in our county. This would give a chance to those who need it.

Those students who don’t wish to attend college can learn a trade this way such as being a plumber, electrician, or in automotive work. There is a vast amount of training that can be absorbed through having a technical/vocational school with a centralized campus in Henry County. I was at a meeting of local constituents recently where District IV Commissioner Mr. Reid Bowman said with his permission, “That he would be willing to sell Nash Farm to help get this project started.” This would be a move in the right direction for such to happen.

Think about this very hard and give all our commissioners, representatives, and council members a call or letter and let them know how you would feel on this subject. This would help with the future of our young people and for those who need to learn a new field of work. A technical/vocational school would be a valuable resource to Henry County and it’s residents. Let’s give it a chance and thank you for listening.

The upcoming State of the County address to be made by Chairperson Mathis should be made live at he Administration Building instead of at a social function of the Henry County Council for Quality Growth at Eagles Landing Country Club. The people deserve a chance to be at the event and here what is said without getting a taped version later.
